What we’ve been up to… Playing with diggers The toddlers have had lots of fun playing with diggers in their own construction site. They enjoyed playing with the sand and moving it using the toy diggers. This helped the children to develop their gross motor skills and strengthen their muscles. What we’ve been up to… Spending the day at the beach Earlier this month the children at our Oxley Park nursery went to the beach! The children had so much fun exploring the beach, catching fish and building sandcastles. What we’ve been up to… World Book Day On World Book Day the children brought one of their favourite book’s Harry Saves the Ocean to life and helped Harry the mouse clear up the ocean. By establishing good habits like recycling at a young age, these habits are more likely to stick with children as they get older. What we’ve been up to… Sensory farmyard At the beginning of the month, the babies showed great interest in animals. To extend on this interest we created a sensory farmyard where the children were able to explore and feel all the different textures around them, from the muddy fields and leafy broccoli trees to the prickly Weetabix hay bales. The children also listened to the team making different animal sounds and trying to imitate the sounds that they could hear.
What we’ve been up to… This month we have been focusing on Christmas. The children in each room created their own Christmas displays for a competition. We selected the winning display from our butterfly room – well done to all, please see each room’s display below. We have also had a visit from Santa and Christmas parties.
