About our Leavesden nursery
Our Leavesden nursery and pre-school in Watford is friendly and lively, located within the grounds of Leavesden Green School. It is conveniently located close to Watford Town Centre and Watford Junction train station.
With a capacity of 72, our Leavesden nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, supporting all areas of development for babies from 3 months to children of school age. Our practitioners monitor each child’s progress and plan key learning opportunities to support individual development.
Our nursery has three dedicated rooms for different age groups. We have a baby room for babies from 3 months to 24 months, a toddler room for ages 2-3 years and a pre-school which is for 3-5-year olds. Each of our rooms has access to the large garden area.
In addition we have a milk kitchen in the baby room and an onsite kitchen for our chef to prepare and serve nutritious meals.
Both the indoor and outdoor areas of our nursery build upon children’s interest and aim to stimulate children’s curiosity using natural resources and real-life objects, as we believe, children learn best from real experiences.
The baby and toddler rooms are dedicated areas for babies and younger children, from 3 months to 3 years (flexible depending upon the age and stage of each child). The black and white area is a cosy, soft part of the baby room that helps to stimulate the brain. The bold contrasting colours help babies to become active learners.
In our pre-school room we use a curiosity approach to support children with their education, social skills, and preparation for school. We aim to build strong relationships with our parents, and work on developing your children on an individual needs’ basis.
The outdoor area provides a stimulating learning environment with a mud kitchen, construction area and sand pit.
