About our Bricket Wood nursery
Our Bricket Wood nursery in St Albans, is a cosy setting with a warm, caring and friendly atmosphere.
As we are a small setting within a close community our children are able to establish great friendships that extend beyond the nursery. Our children learn to work together and support each other regardless of their age or ability. We also encourage our parents to have an active involvement in their child’s early years education and progress.
We are conveniently located close to the local train station in St Albans which has trains into Watford Junction. We are also close to the junction 21a of the M25, junction 6 of the M1 and the North Orbital road.
Our aim is to help our children build their self-confidence and independence to enable them to reach their full potential.
Our Caterpillar room caters for babies from 12 months and curious toddlers as they learn to explore and understand the world around them. We have a sensory area as well as a home corner and lots of activities for them to learn through play.
Our Butterfly room is designed for children over 2 years until they are ready to start school. We use a curiosity approach to support children with their education, social skills, and preparation for school.
We have a large beautiful outside space with a range of soft surfaces, a small woodland, and a mud kitchen.
We have access to a large field where the children take part in a range of outdoor activities such as bug hunting, Easter egg hunts and sports days.
We also take the children on regular trips around the village, to the nearby lake to feed the ducks, to the local park and we also sometimes watch the trains coming in and out of the station.
