About our Swanbourne nursery
Our Swanbourne nursery and pre-school is friendly and lively, located in the beautiful Swanbourne Estate. With capacity for 58 children spread over four rooms, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, supporting all areas of development for children from three months until children are ready to go to school. Our practitioners monitor each child’s progress and plan a variety of enrichment experiences to support individual development in all areas of learning.
Our Swanbourne nursery is led by Elizabeth White, an experienced manager, who is passionate about her nursery and all the children who attend. We are located on a farm where the children get to watch tractors at work and visit the cows and their calves and we go on walks to the farm daily. We also have pet snails that the children can interact with.
Our children are served seasonal food which has been made by our own on-site chef. We can cater for any dietary requirements as well as support the weaning process for babies.
Swanbourne is located just off the A413 and is just 10 miles from Milton Keynes, Aylesbury and Leighton Buzzard train stations. This makes our nursery the ideal choice for busy parents looking to give their child the best start with an early years education.
The four rooms are separated into dedicated areas for the different age ranges to ensure we offer learning and experiences tailored to that age. We have a cosy and quiet baby room, two toddler rooms, and a pre-school.
Both the inside and outside areas of the nursery build upon the children’s interests and aim to stimulate their curiosity. Our aim is to provide the highest quality of care and education within a secure atmosphere allowing the children to flourish.
We are very lucky to have a large outdoor space which is separated into four areas so each room has its own space. We also have a large allotment where the children can explore and have adventures in the natural surroundings. The children also learn about planting fruit and vegetables here as well as picking their own to enjoy at snack times.
All these areas provide a stimulating learning environment and include mud kitchens and construction areas. The children also recently planted daffodils along with a variety of herbs and vegetables in the allotment.
Our baby room is a dedicated area for babies, we are flexible depending upon the age and stage of each child before moving them onto the next room. This area is calm, quiet, and cosy and is separated from the rest of the nursery, so our babies can learn and develop in their own environment.
This room is large and lively, full of all the artwork the children have created. The room has free-flow access into the garden and our children can access this large outside area when they like.
This room is a fun and lively environment, this area is in the same room but on a different level to our pre-school. We use a curiosity approach to encourage the children and aim to minimise the use of plastic and focus on natural resources and real-life objects, as we feel children learn best from real experiences.
The pre-school at our Swanbourne nursery has been specially designed for the requirements of children from 3 years old until they take the next step up to school. We use a curiosity approach to support children with their education, social skills, and preparation for school.
All our children are able to use our sensory room which is fully equipped with fibre optics and a calming bubble machine. We have a large selection of sensory toys and activities which offers a stimulating yet calming environment for the children. It’s a great place for the children to escape busy nursery life and retreat to a tranquil space and let their exploratory minds evolve.
Our library is available for our children to visit in small groups. It’s a great space for the children to develop their language and conversational skills.
