What we've been up to...

Playing with diggers

The toddlers have had lots of fun playing with diggers in their own construction site.

They enjoyed playing with the sand and moving it using the toy diggers.

This helped the children to develop their gross motor skills and strengthen their muscles.

Toddlers get baking

The toddlers had so much fun baking cookies with their friends.

The children used a variety of tools to mix the ingredients together and roll them out into delicious cookies.

Baking is ideal for encouraging children to use basic maths and science skills such as counting, measuring and pouring ingredients into measuring cups and bowls.

This learning opportunity also allowed the children to experience working with different textures and colours, enabling them to express their imagination and creativity.

Inspiring the next generation of scientists

Budding scientists conducted their own science experiments last week.

Science play provides children with opportunities to develop and practice many different skills and attributes. These include communication skills, collaborative skills, team working and perseverance, as well as analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

The children are also encouraged to expand their vocabulary by using scientific terms that are appropriate for their age group.
